He won’t say that he wanted to join a gang but was rejected because he was deemed too goofy. Even though it's all true, he won’t say any of it. Jazz simply sees himself as an artist who likes to entertain himself and others with his humorous storytelling. Jazz, a first-gen Haitian (we don't eat pets!) Brooklynite attended Central Michigan University for grad school. There weren’t too many people who looked like him there. In the entire master’s program, he was considered Black guy number 3. After that ordeal, he performed stand-up for 10 years at clubs such as New York Comedy Club and the Comedy Store and pursued writing classes at UCB New York and Script Anatomy to satisfy his passion for comedy writing. Mike Montesano, co-executive producer of the TV sitcom Bunk'd, has mentored him since moving to Los Angeles. Jazz has also gained experience in pitching jokes in writers' rooms.
