Reenita is the unrivaled 'Nora Ephron' of South Asian storytelling, crafting tales as vibrant as her culture—unapologetically Indian, filled with humor, and starring gloriously imperfect characters. LA Weekly hails her as a top Indie writer bringing Indian culture and humor to American audiences.
A former journalist and editor, she has written for National Geographic Kids, Disney India, Cartoon Network Asia, The New York Times, CNN, Radio Television Hong Kong, and Bloomberg. Her accolades include the Eric Hoffer Book Award, IndieReader Discovery Award, Santa Barbara International Screenplay Award, Script2Comic, Launchpad, and Emerging Screenwriters awards, with Operation Mom receiving second-round consideration for the Sundance Institute Development Slate.
Beyond books, she’s the creator of two hit podcasts: The True Fiction Project (where reality collides with fiction) and Shadow Realm (a portal to thrilling narrative fiction). She’s also honed her screenwriting skills through Writers’ Bootcamp and Roadmap Writers, proving she means business.
Her book Ace of Blades and screenplay Shadow Realm have been optioned, and coming soon is Festival of Lights (HarperCollins).
