Rudi O'Meara

Rudi O’Meara is a Black List Recommended action/adventure screenwriter based in Marin County, California. He got his start in the industry working as a junior development exec for Oscar-winning indie producer David Weisman. In his 20s, he pivoted careers and worked as an award-winning Creative Director for some of the world’s best brands. But after three back-to-back near-death experiences (blood clot, ski crash, blood clot) nearly took him out, he decided to finally listen to that voice in his head that kept asking why he wasn’t writing.

Since then, he’s won or made the finals of numerous screenwriting competitions including: Roadmap Writers, ScriptPipeline, Page, Big Break, ScreenCraft, Shore Scripts, ISA, WritersXWrtiers, Filmmatic, and Outstanding Screenplays. His work tends to focus on misfits and outsiders struggling to face their mortality, fight their fears, and redefine themselves (and their tribe) in order to survive. And he sees genre as a tool for exploring taboo subjects in unexpected and arresting ways.
