Informed by his years as a trial lawyer helping everyday people navigate emotionally charged situations, Michael writes character-driven horror and thriller features about people struggling to overcome past traumas, with their grief, guilt, and anxiety often taking the form of a dark or supernatural adversary. Michael is a recent winner of the Final Draft Grand Prize and Page Awards Gold Prize for ABOUT MCKENNA, a female-driven revenge thriller in the vein of COLLATERAL meets PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN. Michael’s horror/sci-fi short, SCOUT, appeared at the top of the Killer Shorts Scream List in 2025.
When Michael is not writing scary stories, he enjoys spending time with his family and their three rescue dogs, playing poker on Friday nights, and, for better or worse, white-knuckling emotionally fraught Sunday afternoons with the Dallas Cowboys. Michael never gets tired of watching JAWS, especially in the summer.
