Kelly Cochran-Yzquierdo

Kelly Cochran-Yzquierdo, an award-winning screenwriter, story consultant, and founder of From the Fringe Entertainment, lives in Oklahoma City. She brings a unique and often underrepresented perspective to her work, particularly, focusing on LGBTQI+ experiences.


Her journey as a storyteller is underscored by a strong academic foundation, holding an MFA in Writing for Film and Television from the prestigious Emerson College. This rigorous training has honed her ability to develop nuanced characters and engaging plots that resonate with audiences.


Through her company, From the Fringe Entertainment, Kelly actively champions diverse voices and aims to bring stories from the margins to the forefront. Her commitment to inclusivity extends beyond her writing, shaping her approach as a story consultant where she helps other creatives refine their narratives with authenticity and impact.


Beyond her screenwriting endeavors, Kelly is deeply invested in nurturing the next generation of storytellers. She served seventeen years as an Associate Professor of English and Screenwriting at Northern Virginia Community College, and she currently serves as a Professor of English at Oklahoma City Community College, where she shares her expertise and passion with aspiring writers.
