Kelly Asher
Kelly is a Writers Guild Initiative alumna and award-winning screenwriter whose visceral, character-driven work has earned recognition across genres. She serves on the Advisory Board for a local college's Film Department and is a film festival judge, roles she genuinely enjoys and takes pride in.
Her storytelling centers on morally complex characters and emotional intensity, with a passion for uplifting underserved voices through bold, innovative narratives. Kelly thrives in collaborative environments and is drawn to thought-provoking projects that challenge both audience and artist.
Kelly’s writing is shaped by an impoverished upbringing that included a terminally ill mother, an outlaw biker father, and an undeniably haunted house. A stroke survivor, she brings resilience and depth to her storytelling, finding the dark, the unsettling, and sometimes the deliciously uncomfortable.
