Christina Hulen is an award-winning Writer / Director / Producer. Her female-centered work has won the Meryl Streep-funded Writers Lab and was a Top 10 female-written script in the Nicholl Fellowship. Her script, A GENTLEMAN OF GOOD HOPE was announced as a winner of the IWC “Best Of” screenwriting competition in its inaugural year. The script is currently in pre-production at New North Pictures with producers Charlotte Rothwell and Nicola Pearcey attached.
Chrisina has been a selected participant to the CineStory Feature Lab as well as the Stowe Story Lab. She was the recipient of the Arch and Bruce Brown literary Fellowship and received a $25,000 grant from the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation to help fund her latest directorial project EVERYTHING'S FINE. which premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. EVERYTHING'S FINE has garnered 14 Jury prizes to date.
As a producer, she was part of the award-winning independent features A MARINE STORY and SHELTER, which won the GLAAD award for best Narrative feature limited release. For television, she was a producer on the final season of BRUNCH WITH BRIDGET for the LOGO channel.
Christina writes and directs across genres, but holds a special place in her heart for historical dramas featuring LGBTQ+ storylines.
