N.C. Jones is a Raleigh-based screenwriter whose work interrogates historical and cultural narratives through the lens of outsiders and marginalized voices. Drawing on an eclectic background that includes stints as a birthday party clown, pirate DJ, call center supervisor, and tech ghostwriter, her storytelling champions tales of unlikely heroes and complex characters navigating challenging landscapes.


Jones has written and produced four short films, including "Lungs," which won Best Sci-Fi at the 2023 Longleaf Film Festival and was picked up for distribution by DUST, a science fiction streaming service available on YouTube, Pluto TV, and Tubi. She also wrote, produced, and directed the comedic short film "Merit Badges."


Her films have screened at festivals like Cucalorus and Longleaf. Her work has earned recognition in the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting competition and as both a Semifinalist and Quarterfinalist in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting competition.


Her work explores the complexities of heritage and characters who find power outside traditional roles. With over a decade of experience in production, design, and marketing, Jones brings practical grounding to her authentic storytelling that grapples with the weight of history and the search for belonging.
