Raised by a teen single mom just three blocks north of Detroit’s 8 Mile, becoming a writer once felt like a luxury Melody couldn’t afford. After leaving behind her career as an architectural designer to raise her family across continents, she earned an MFA in screenwriting from Emerson College and finally traded in her T-square.

She writes about scrappy women who, like her, hold it together until they don’t. Whether in comedy, drama, or a high-stakes thriller, her protagonists stop pretending, start unraveling, and somewhere between the chaos and the caffeine, figure out who they really are. When the world doesn’t make space for them, they kick the walls out and make their own.

Repped by James Moorer at One Moorer Media & Management, Melody also directs and recently produced the feature film DIFFRACTION, set to release in 2026. She is the creator and producer of The Farm, a serialized mystery-thriller podcast that recently launched on all major platforms.

In her spare time, she chases cheap flights and occasionally remembers to pack socks.
