- Daniel Gámez | IWC List Copy Best Of 2026
< Back Daniel Gámez dannygamez@me.com 917-626-0031 Originally from Central America, Daniel writes dysfunctional tales of the Salvadorian-American experience, both as a former immigrant (who didn’t become naturalized until the age of seventeen) and now as a guilt-stricken American Citizen with far too many rights. Having fled from the Salvadorian War at the age of three, Daniel’s take on the Latinx point-of-view is rooted in trauma yet explored through humor. At the core of his writing—whether it be as an overly judgmental spectator of his ancestors or as an ethnically put-upon participant—is Daniel’s cautionary experiences in the never-ending assimilation process, a discipline that Daniel refers to as “A Rights of ‘Otherness’ Passage.” Daniel is also a proudly maladjusted homosexual, which comes with its own otherness stories. As a film instructor, Daniel has taught at AMVA, a vocational film school for teenagers and adults on the Autistic Spectrum. Currently, he runs the Cinema Arts Focus Program at Providence High School in Burbank. non-WGA Male, Latinx, LGBTQ+ LITTLE EL SALVADOR (One-hour dramedy pilot) A thirty-something Salvadorian-American Latino who, after getting dumped by his boyfriend for being too white-washed, attempts to win him back by moving into an ethnically populated apartment complex, all in an attempt to find the Latin roots he suppressed whilst over-assimilating in America. - Natalie Higdon | IWC List Copy Best Of 2026
< Back Natalie Higdon natalie.higdon@gmail.com https://www.nataliehigdon.com/ Natalie Higdon is a comedy writer originally from Memphis, Tenn., where the top tourist attraction is a pyramid-shaped Bass Pro Shop. Her mother is a romance novelist who took her along to writing conventions instead of paying for summer camp. This is where Natalie learned foundational narrative skills like how to best describe a man’s “member” in prose and avoid getting sued by an ex who bears a striking resemblance to your lead villain. After graduating from The University of Memphis with a degree in Journalism (and completing an etiquette class at Dillard’s called White Gloves & Party Manners much earlier), Natalie set out to be a screenwriter and more importantly, move out of her hometown where she never quite fit in (see: pyramid-shaped Bass Pro Shop, above). These experiences inspired her love for writing darkly comedic stories with heart, about fish-out-of-water protagonists who are on a journey to discover and love who they truly are. Natalie’s screenplays have placed in competitions including the Academy Nicholl Fellowships and Austin Film Festival. She recently completed the 2024-2025 Paramount Writers Mentoring Program where she was mentored by Carly Berg and Sean Kotzin. Her short film, Dream Skin Mask, premiered as a Film Shortage Daily Pick. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her cat, Biscuit.
